⁠The team met with the MP for Banda Constituency, Honourable Ahmed Ibrahim, on arrival for a briefing before proceeding to the ewe chief’s palace to ascertain the extent of harassment.

FOLLOWING an SOS call from the Volta Dispora Caucus (VDC) Bono Coordinator, Mr Samuel Wiako, Honourable Basil  Ahiable travelled with a four man team to Banda in the Bono Region on Thursday 18th January 2024 to intervene in the latest round of harassment being meted to Voltarians at the BUI Dam area. 

⁠The team met with the MP for Banda Constituency, Honourable Ahmed Ibrahim, on arrival for a briefing before proceeding to the ewe chief’s palace to ascertain the extent of harassment. 

The teary chiefs recounted the harassment and humiliation they receive from the indigenes of the area and requested the VDC to help retrieve 5 outboard motors seized by their tormenters. 

The MPs for Banda and Bole Bamboi are working with the National Coordinator to retrieve the outboard motors. 
At a meeting with the Ewe community in Banda, the National Coordinator affirmed his commitment to secure the safety and well-being of the Voltarians living in the community. 

The MP for Banda in a show of his commitment has recommenced the reconstruction of a landing beach abandoned by the NPP government to give the Voltarian fishermen and fish mongers a modern landing beach for their trade.
The Voltarians were very grateful to the VDC team and the MP for the love shown them.
The National Coordinator's team included the NDC Regional Vice Chairman Hon Egypt Kudoto, VDC National Secretary Mr Godson Fiavi Gadabor, Mr Samuel Wiako VDC Bono Regional Chairman, and Mr Hope Kotoka VDC Executive Member. Whiles the VDC team was met by the NDC Bono Regional Chairman Hon Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, NDC Bono Regional Women Organizer as well as the Banda Constituency Women Organizer.
