VIDEO: Leader of "George Floyd Protest" in Ghana Arrested

Leader of the Economic Fighters League, Ernesto Yeboah, who organised a vigil in solidarity against the killing of George Floyd, has been arrested by security operatives at the Black Star Square in Accra.

Per reports gathered by soireenews.com, the police said the vigil - which was aimed at speaking against police brutality on blacks across the world - was unauthorized.

In the video, Mr Yeboah was seen addressing participants on the need to end police brutality among other issues.

He was however, whisked away by security officials .

The other ‘protesters’ are headed to the Ministries police station where it is believed he would be held.

The police had earlier released a statement admonishing citizens against participating in any ensuing "George Floyd" protests.

The police said the directive is to prevent further spread of the covid-19 disease.

The statement added that the ban on public gatherings was still in force.
