It is suspected that the woman and daughter drunk the rat chemicals with water which could have resulted in their death.

The residents of the Loho community in the Nadoli/Kaleo District of the Upper West Region woke up on Saturday, July 31, 2021, to see a grieve situation as they find a woman and her child died in the bush. 

According to a local news reporter Albert Dapare who visited the scene with some police officers, two women of the community went in search of firewood on that faithful Saturday and saw a group of dogs gathered in a shea tree and it prompt them to get closer to see if an animal died and the dogs are there eating it and upon reaching there, the women saw the two dead bodies and had to report to community authorities and they later reported it to the Nadoli police.

He further said the Assemblyman invited the media to join the police to the scene to assess the situation.

“Upon reaching the place we saw a woman of about 40 years and a child of about 10 years dead with the bodies already decomposing.

The community elders said the faces are strange and they are not natives of the community.

So the police realized the bodies can not be conveyed due to its devastation nature had to wrap the bodies with a cloth and cover it with sand” Albert narrated.

The police retrieved a bag containing a few clothes, an empty bottle of rat poisoning chemicals and a gallon containing water.

It is suspected that they drunk the rat chemicals with water which could have resulted in their death.

The community members were surprised by this tragedy in Loho.
