UN base petrol-bombed as DR Congo protests worsen
A recent wave of attacks has killed hundreds and displaced tens of thousands.
In Beni, in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a UN base was petrol-bombed amid escalating anti-UN demonstrations.
On Thursday, at least two additional peacekeeping bases were attacked.
The number of casualties wasn't immediately clear.
In the violent battles that followed Monday's anti-UN protests, at least 19 people, including three UN peacekeepers, perished.

According to a UN spokeswoman, Mai Mai militia units, which were purportedly established to defend communities, have joined the demonstrators.
In the east, more than 100 different armed organizations are active, including the Islamic State-affiliated Allied Democratic Front.
