UEFA has published a report, revealing Manchester United had the most expensive squad ever assembled at the end of the 2023 financial year.

United players cost a massive £1.21bn in transfer fees in total.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid also had squads that cost over €1bn at the end of the financial year in view.

City is in second place, with their squad costing €1.286bn (£1.1bn), Chelsea €1.084bn (£927m) and Madrid €1.031bn (£882m).

Liverpool €905m (£774m) and Arsenal €890m (£761m) are sixth and seventh, respectively.

The most expensive assembled squad in Europe according to UEFA include;

3. Chelsea – £927m

4. Real Madrid – £882m

5. PSG – £802m

6. Liverpool – £774m

7. Arsenal – £761m

8. Juventus – £658m

9. Tottenham – £570m

10. Inter Milan – £504m
