Upper East: Absentee staff will not be validated for salary - Coordinating Director warned

The Upper East Regional Coordinating Director, Alhaji Abubakari Inusah has warned that local government staff who absent themselves from work without due permission will not be validated for salary.

“From now onwards, staff who absent themselves from work will not be validated and we are going to ensure strict compliance,” he warned.

Alhaji Inusah issued the warning when he addressed the management and staff of the Nabdam and Bolgatanga East District Assemblies as part of his familiarization visit for first-hand information on the progress of work at the various Assemblies.

He observed that even though some staff absents themselves from work without due permission,  Human Resource (HR) Managers at the respective Assemblies validate.

He entreated all local government staff to be punctual, and work diligently to support the vision of the  Regional Minister to rebrand the Region.

He reminded the staff of the functions of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), detailing that they are to coordinate the activities of the District Assemblies and monitor and evaluate their performance.

He said as part of the local government performance system, the Performance Contract signed between the Coordinating Directors and the  District Chief Executives must be supported by all staff for the Municipality and District Assemblies to succeed.
