NDC Gives Hope To Aggrieved NPP Youth in Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency

The National Democratic Congress, NDC has given hope to New Patriotic Party (NPP) aggrieved youth in the Yapei-Kusawgu constituency in the Savannah region.

The NPP youth accused the Nana Addo-led government of unprecedented neglect during a press conference held in September 2021 at Yapei to express their frustration.

The NDC, therefore, urged the youth group to throw its support to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to better their lives. 

The youth group after the press conference had planned to stage a demonstration as the next line of action if nothing was heard but unfortunately, some security personnel was deployed to Yapei to stop the set plans of the youth.

In a press statement issued by Mr Alidu Abdul-Aziz, the Communications Officer For NDC in the Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency and intercepted by Soirreenews on Thursday, October 7, 2021, the youth seem to have thrown their support at the NDC following their statement that the opposition party "remains the only party that offers hope and pragmatic solutions to the many challenges confronting the current generation of our dear constituency- Yapei-Kusawgu."

They have assured to "officially meet with the leadership of these groups and have positive resolutions were taken."

THE NDC SHALL BRING YOU HOPE AGAIN: NDC YAPEI-KUSAWGU ASSURES AGGRIEVED NPP MEMBERS.

The NDC has taken notice of some Serious tensions brewing within the camp of the NPP in the Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency of the Savannah Region. 

The youth of the party are up in arms against their leadership at the regional level due to what they described as "intimidating tactics" used by the regional leadership to frustrate their efforts to openly stage a demonstration against the Nana Addo-led administration.

It would be recalled that somewhere on the 13th of September, 2021 the youth who identified themselves as a coalition of aggrieved footsoldiers of the NPP in the Yapei-Kusawgu constituency held a press conference in Yapei, in which they accused the Nana Addo led government (their own government) of what they called "unprecedented neglect". 

According to them, they also contributed towards Nana Addo's victory in both the 2016 and 2020 elections, but it appears as though the President and leadership of their party are completely unaware of their existence. 

The reason for their claim is that nobody from the constituency has been appointed to serve under Nana Addo's government at the national level since 2017 to date. 

They also added that they have not benefited from the party since the party assumed power in 2017 and all contracts are awarded from Accra. 

The youth who claimed their press conference did not yield any positive outcome decided to organize a demonstration this time around since that was the only option they had left.

But all their plans were scattered yet again by the regional leadership of their party immediately they got wind of it.

A joint team of police and military officers were sent to Yapei from Damongo, and threatened to ruthlessly deal with the aggrieved youth, should they make any wrong move by organizing any such demonstration.

This particular action which was orchestrated by their regional leadership has angered the youth so much to the extent that, they have threatened to leave the party if they were not allowed to lawfully express their sentiments within a democratic set-up.

They also accused their constituency leadership of being the persons who leaked their plans to the regional leadership.

They have therefore described both their constituency and regional executives as hypocrites, self-centered, greedy, and very corrupt bunch of persons who do not care about the ordinary party supporter. 

We in the NDC have been briefed of all the happenings and wish to stand by the aggrieved youth as we do not see why their leadership will at this point neglect them and also deny them the opportunity to register their displeasure.

I want to place on record that the NDC remains the only party that offers hope and pragmatic solutions to the many challenges confronting the current generation of our dear constituency- Yapei-Kusawgu. 

I, therefore, entreat all and sundry to throw our support behind the visionary JM, our MP Hon John Jinapor, and the NDC to come and salvage our nation from the shackles of poverty, mismanagement, corruption, thievery, and unprecedented family and friends governance.

In the coming days, we will officially meet with the leadership of these groups and have positive resolutions were taken.
