Two Arrested Over Killing of Adamu Soldier

Two suspects have been arrested by the Wenchi police in connection with the death of Adamu Wahab Popularly known as Adamu Soldier.

Adamu Wahab, 55 a farmer in Wenchi was found dead on his farm on Monday.

The deceased was said to have left home on Monday to visit his crops but did not return.

His wife upon waiting for his husband informed the head of the family and a search party was organised which eventually led to his lifeless body been found in the river Yooyoo near his farm.

The family suspected foul play in the death of Adamu Soldier since he had a land dispute with some people.

The Wenchi Municipal Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr Eric Awudzivi in a press briefing said they have picked up two key suspects over the death.

The two are Nana Ameyaw also known as 'God bless' and 'John Kofi Dekyi' with the third suspect namely Alhanssan on the run.

DSP. Mr Eric Awudzivi charged Alhanssan to report himself to the police to assist in investigations.

The two suspects apprehended by the police have since been sent to Sunyani to assist police in investigations.

On his part the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive, Dr Prince Kwakye Afriyie commended the leadership of the Islamic community and the chiefs of Wenchi Zango for ensuring calm in the area during these trying moments.

He assured the family that the security will do their best to bring the perpetrators to book.

The MCE charged anyone with information about the death of Adamu Soldier to inform the police to assist in their investigations.

He however said the police will soon come after those who set ablaze the residence and washing bay of the chief and the businessman.
