Blakk Rasta, a REGGAE performer and radio host, is preparing for the ninth iteration of his annual Kuchoko Roots Festival, which will take place on June 24 at the Alliance Francaise in Accra.

The festival aims to build a strong foundation for African Reggae music, often known as Kuchoko.

Blakk Rasta believes that Kuchoko represents the future of reggae because it fuses the energy and cultures of Jamaica and Africa to unleash a revitalized force.

Shatta Wale, Ras Kuuku, Samuel Owusu, Ras Simposh from Burkina Faso, Qshan Deya from St. Vincent, Taj Weekes from St. Lucia, Michael Fabulous from Jamaica, and presenter Blakk Rasta are among the performers scheduled for this year's edition.

The Barack Obama singer told Graphic Showbiz that in addition to seeing the artists on the bill perform, attendees will also get free 'koko with koose and maasa' and a variety of finger delicacies.

He pointed out that the annual event gives aspiring musicians a chance to showcase their abilities.

"Young musicians who have attended the event have frequently shared with me how it has helped them.

"To be on the show, you must provide your best performance. Customers are watching what you are bringing on board because it is solely a live band event, so you need to be good, he said.

According to Blakk Rasta, earlier editions were fantastic and paved the basis for Kuchoko's current massive following.

"Since the Kooko Roots Festival has been added, this edition will be the largest. Very inventively native," he continued.
