The Techiman North District in the Bono East Region has launched its 2021 housing and population census campaign.

The launch took place at the district's capital, Tuobodom, which was graced by the presence of the district's officer in charge of the housing and population census, Mr. Joseph Kinansua Jatuat, representatives from the district assembly and some stakeholders within the Techiman North District.

Addressing the gathering,  Mr. Joseph Kinansua Jatuat said, the main agenda for the launch is to create awareness for the upcoming census and spell out the importance of the housing and population census.

In order to ensure a smooth and safe exercise, Mr. Joseph revealed that his outfit has already selected a section of the populace who will be undergoing ten days of training for the purposes of the census.

According to him, they have set the 13th to the 25th day of June 2021, to list all structures that will be considered for the census of which the enumeration will commence on the night of June 27th, 2021 on the following day, the main exercise will kick-off.

Mr. Joseph Kinansua Jatuat entreats all and sundry to fully corporate with the authorities during the exercise as the housing and population census will go a long way in developing the country.

On behalf of the District Chief Executive, Hon Peter Mensah Kumbeso, the Assemblymember for Asuea electoral area, Hon. Listowel Yeboah Kromo, advised the people of Techiman North to fully participate in the census because it will help the government to know the exact number of people living in the district and in turn informs the government's decision in sharing the national cake equal among all the Metropolitan, Municipal and District assemblies in the country.


Hon. Listowel urged all not to attach partisan politics to the housing and population census because it's for the benefits of the nation at large.
