Mr Kenneth Kponor, NCCE Director, Volta Region

The Volta Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr Kenneth Kponor has called on all citizens to be law-abiding and quit putting the laws into their own hands in such times.

Speaking on the issues of violence, he made reference to the Ayawaso bye-Election incident whereby some unknown people fired guns in the constituency during the electoral process which was against the laws of the land. He bemoaned the activities of political parties who have vigilante groups disturbing the peace of the country and the citizenry and asserted that it is necessary for all to be conversant with the laws of the state.

Speaking on the murder of the 11year old boy Ishamel by the two teenagers, Mr Kponor told that he is still dumbfounded about the incident. He, therefore, called on all parents and guardians to be on alert in controlling and taking care of the welfare of their wards.

“I am still thinking about where the said teenagers got the mind of murder and money rituals from," he said.

He finally advised parents to educate their children on manners and make discipline a part of their upbringing assuring that the NCCE  will always continue to educate the public on the do's and don't of the country."
