The Queen-mother of the Kwabenya Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region, Naa Korkoi Dugbatey II, has passionately appealed to the government to hand over their long acquired land or compensate them.

She indicated that it would be appropriate if the government gives back their lands to them rather than allowing individuals to continue to develop it for their own interests.

She stated that the entire land at Atomic was acquired by their late parents for the benefit of their generations until the government took over the property with agreed compensations.

The worried Queen-mother hinted that the numerous efforts by the Kwabenya Traditional Council to either get their lands back or be compensated have proved futile since Dr Kwame Nkrumah's regime.

Expressing her worry to the media at her residence in Accra yesterday, Dugbatey II disclosed that the family boasts of nothing apart from the Atomic Land which the government has seized and paved way for private individuals to encroach.

"The entire land Atomic Land belongs to the Nii Odai Ntow Family and should therefore be handed over to us if the Government does not see its value," the Queen-mother announced.

She called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to as a matter of urgency sit down with the Odai Ntow Family for settlement of the matter concerning the Atomic Land.

She disclosed that the family has all the necessary documents to prove their legitimacy over the land if the Government remains adamant to their pleas.
