According to Egyptian authorities, two ladies have already died while swimming in the Red Sea after being attacked by sharks.

According to the environment ministry, the attacks took place within 600 meters (1,970 feet) of one another.

An Austrian woman in her 60s died on Friday from her injuries, the authorities had earlier said.

It is now also claimed that a Romanian woman in her 40s was slain.

The occurrences took place in the popular tourist destination of Hurghada.

As a result, some beaches in the vicinity have been blocked.
