The Sepe Buokrom District of the Church of Pentecost, New Tafo Area were massively engaged in the Environmental Health Campaign on Saturday, February 29, 2020 within the environs of Sepe Buokrom.

The District also took the opportunity during the attendance of the Area Head, Apostle Samuel Antwi to dedicate a passenger seat built at the Taxi rank of Sepe Buokrom.

A donation of three seater-steel chairs and packs of toilet tissues were also made to the Sepe Buokrom Health Centre.

 

 

The Environmental Care Campaign throughout last week was a mandate by the Church of Pentecost to restore sanity in the country by neatening the environs of Ghana, a performance carried out by the various Areas supervised by their Heads towards the Districts led by its numerous pastors.

The New Tafo Area has not been an exception during the inception of the campaign. They have embraced the initiative and patronized to tidy up the numerous communities at which the Districts are located to benefit from the exercise.

Led by Pastor Frederick Sarfo, the Sepe Buokrom District mobilized its members and on the last of February stormed the community, swept and cleaned the streets with singing. They Ghana Fire Service were called to assist to free the choked gutters beside the main road, through which water could not freely pass out.

 

 

The members after the exercise marched to the installed passenger seater at the Sepe Buokrom taxi rank for the dedication. According to the Area head who was dressed in his sanitation outfit, the erected terminal is an expression of love to demonstrate the magnificence of Jesus and why it is needful to have Him.

He addressed that the clean-up exercise introduced by the Church is an evidence that God is Sacred hence the need for His followers to sanctify themselves to affect their environment.

He further asserted that possessing the Nations as Agents of Transformation demands the Church to work in line with the traditional leaders and political authorities to make the goal achievable.

 

 

“The Gospel cannot be preached without validating the community and one of the ways to establish that is through sanitation, a way that point towards the Holiness of God and the necessity for His followers to be Holy.

“Chiefs and other stakeholders are part of this mandate by the Church to make our vision successful for this reason why we have built this seat to care for passengers who wait for cars to their various destination. It is our cooperate responsibility to the society since we cannot just task government into doing all things,” he added.

Representative of the Chief of Buokrom, Boafoohene Kwaku Agyei after the dedication responded with delight and thanked the Sepe Buokrom District for having the welfare of the people at heart. He promised to educate the residents to maintain the structure to serve the purpose at which it was made.

 

 

Nana rebuked the attitude of inhabitants for abandoning the communal work on only members of the Church of Pentecost. He pleaded that inhabitants must make it a mandate to partake in such activities to help progress the suburb.

“I am disappointed because we see only the church members here. I see no resident and that is a very bad attitude. We are all beneficiaries of the tidiness so I was expecting that the entire township would patronize. We hope that next time, it won’t be just the Church of Pentecost but the residents also,” he ended.

Assembly member of Sepe Buokrom, Hon. Basowa Joseph acknowledged the church and promised to maintain the rhythm of sanitation in the community.

 

 

“This is not a nine day wonder. Rules will be put in place to make sanitation a key element in the township. Whoever fails to attend will be punished. We are doing this for our benefit therefore together, let us help to move Buokrom forward.

Rev. Frederick Sarfo expounded on the need to preserve lives in the country by embarking on sanitation exercises and education.

The Church at the recently opened Sepe Buokrom Health Center presented packs of toilet tissues and three steel hospital seats, worth 3,600 to officials. Apostle Samuel Antwi after prayers handed the items to the physician assistant in charge, Mariatu Nuhu.

 

 

On behalf of the Kumasi Metro Health Directorate, staff and the management of the Health Center, the physician assistant acknowledged God and the Church their benevolence. She entreated more to come to help resolve the challenges of the Health Center.

“We are grateful to God and the Church of Pentecost for what has been done. May the Good Lord replenish your effort for this act of kindness.

“We are entreating you to keep on assisting us and we promise to work tirelessly to uplift the image of this center. We will also put up a maintenance attitude for these seaters to serve its purpose,” she uttered.

 

 

Members were filled with mixed feeling as they saluted the initiatives of the chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye with songs of praise. They promised to abide by the inventiveness of the church to exalt the Name of God and the Pentecost Church.
