Sekondi-Takoradi Petty Traders Call On Government To Re-Introduced And Operationalized Tollbooth.

They explained that the scrabing of the tollbooth has left foreign cargo vehicles from our neighboring countries move freely without paying nothing to us a country but rather put more burden on the citizens to pay for.

Some petty traders and residents of Sekondi Takoradi have added dear voice to call on the government to bring back the tollbooth which in doing that release the overburdened taxes on the Ghanaian public.

According to the residents, if one enters the market, everything shows that things in the market are so expensive and people find it difficult to buy their desired items.

The tollbooth they said was one way the government was accruing revenues to support the country but because of the abolishment of its operation, both the government and petty traders who use to sell items at the booth have all lost their daily returns which has also led to the hard economic impact we are experiencing.

They explained that the scraping of the tollbooth has left foreign cargo vehicles from our neighboring countries to move freely without paying anything to us as a country but rather put more burden on the citizens to pay for.

"Our roads are full of potholes and the income from the tollbooth can be used to maintain our roads but all the small coins coming to the country as revenue are missing in the bush.
