The Minister of Health Mr. Kwaku Agyemang Manu has assured the Member of Parliament for Akontombra in the Western North Region Mr. Alex Tetteh Djornabuah that the ministry will build a 42-bed capacity District hospital for the region.

 Construction of the facility according to the health minister will start soon and it’s expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

According to the minister, the Sefwi Akontombra facility is part of the construction of public health care facilities in selected Districts in the Western Region with funding from ORIO and ING.

“The Sefwi Akontombra facility is part of the Construction of Public health care facilities in selected Districts in the Western Region project with funding from ORIO and ING. Bank, which commenced in December 2019. The facility when completed will achieve a 42-Bed Capacity District hospital status,” the minister said.

The Minister's comments were in response to a question filed by MP for Sefwi Akontombra asking the minister of health the type of health facility programmed to be constructed in Sefwi Akontombra and when it will be completed and handed over.

The Health Minister, Mr. Kwaku Agyemang Manu indicated that Ministry has a policy of providing each District with a hospital.
