The nursing moms jailed at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for non-payment of bills were overjoyed.

The nursing mothers and their babies were healthy again, but they couldn't afford the hospital expenses.

But now that the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has settled the expenses, the moms can breathe a sigh of relief.

Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem Prempeh, Executive Director of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, said the gesture is by which focuses on free healthcare help for the least fortunate.

The nursing moms who were detained at the facility praised the managers of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II charity for helping them get out.

Dr. Oheneba Owusu-Danso, the Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), has asked corporate institutions and philanthropists to follow Otumfuo's lead and support those detained at the facility.

Even though KATH does not agree with the imprisonment strategy, Dr. Owusu-Danso claims it is the only alternative.
