Salah and Mane takes Liverpool through to Champions League quarter finals after 2-0 win over Leipzig

Two goals by Salah and Mane were enough for Klopp’s side to put their domestic troubles behind to ease past RB Leipzig in the round of 16 of the Champions League on 4-0 aggregate.

The Reds entered into the game at the Puskas Arena with a 2-0 scoreline from same players two weeks ago and were determined to replicate similar results in the first leg of the competition.

Fabinho’s selection in defensive midfield was a boost to allow Thiago to push further forward as he found himself in a good position on the edge of the box on several occasions.

Alisson Becker made a couple of saves to deny the visitors before Jota came close in the 19-minute to meet Alexander-Arnold swung in the corner, but Gulácsi pushes it over the top.

After a goalless first half, the Reds registered their first goal of the night from Mohamed Salah from a break.

The Egyptian was involved at the very start and the end, collecting a clever pass from Diogo Jota and coolly slotted the ball into the bottom corner. 

Mane doubled the advantage four minutes later when he connected an Origi’s simple cross.
