Residents of Berekum Laments over Abandoned Road Project.

Some residents of Amagoase and Rawlins Market in the Berekum East Municipality of the Bono Region are lamenting over an abandoned roads project for over a year now.

Speaking with some of the residents at Amangoase, they claim the contractor who was contracted to undertake rehabilitation road works in Berekum to construct the town's inner city roads has ignored the project and has left the road leaving the people in the area struggling to live in the area and also finds it difficult to get to their homes.

They explained that the open gutters the contractor were constructing have been left unattended which has turned into major holes in some part of the Amangoase community and Rawlins market community.

The people continued that, if the contractor believes he cannot complete the project, is better he comes back to cover all the manholes he dug on their streets causing both the old and children to fall into the gutters.

Speaking Abanga, he said is about time the leaders of Berekum should rise and ask for their rights before 2024 comes for another election to demand their thumb for votes.
