Residents of Amanase in the Ayensuano District in the Eastern region of Ghana, are calling for an urgent construction of their collapsed footbridge which links Amanase to Aboabo, and other communities.

Speaking in an interview with the Assembly member of the area, Honourable Prince Gohaah appealed to the authorities to immediately come and  assist the Amenase residents by constructing the foot bridge since it is the only source of route to the town.

The residents on their part revealed, that the collapsed bridge has been there for a very long time due to the widening course of the river.

They added that they find it difficult to use the bridge whenever there is any heavy rainfall.

They stressed, that "since this is the main route for the people living in the community, it becomes difficult for them to go out during heavy rainfall”.

The residents noted that the bridge has become a death trap to whoever ply on it.

”When people fall sick we have to use motorcycles to carry them to the hospital, pregnant women are dying due to the deplorable nature of the Bridge and the bad roads”.

However, they pleaded with the Member of Parliament Honourable Nana Taddy as well as the DCE to respond quickly before the worse happens.
