Lil Win had been wearing a neck brace since May 25, following a car accident in Amakom, Kumasi.

The tragedy occurred near Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) and killed a three-year-old boy.

Nana Yaw, a three-year-old boy, was in a vehicle with his father when they were hit by Lil Win's car. According to some eyewitnesses, Lil Win was speeding in the busy area of Amakom.

Following the collision, Nana Yaw and his father were taken to a neighboring hospital before being moved to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The 3-year old Nana Yaw died later.

Arrest and charge

Lil Win was detained ten days later, on June 3, by police from the Manhyia Divisional Police Command's Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), shortly after being released from the hospital.

His arrest came after the deceased's family intensified their call for justice. The police had previously claimed Lil Win's ailing health as the reason for the delay in his arrest.

During his arraignment at the Asokore Mampong District Court, he was granted bail of GH¢50,000 with two sureties. He has been accused with hazardous driving and negligently causing injury.
