Rebuilding of Appiaste, Construction Work Progressing Steadily.

Speaking to Honourable Thomas Ewenan, the Assembly Member for Bepo Electoral Area together with other community members in the area thanked the government for the ongoing reconstruction projects for the people, and said the project when complete will ease pressure on the people in terms of accommodation situation facing the people. 

Rebuilding of Appiaste, Construction Work Progressing Steadily.

The rebuilding of the Appiaste community by the government of Ghana to provide befitting shelter for the numerous lives which were affected by the  20th of January 2022  chemical explosion, is progressing steadily, as aid continues to come in to support the construction works.

The Appiaste community in the Prestea Huni Valley District of the Western Region was hit by an unfortunate chemical explosion on the 20th of January 2022 which led to the death of about sixteen, injuring many and razing all houses at Appiaste rendering about eight hundred people of Appiaste homeless.
 
In this regard, the government of Ghana has begun the construction of over a hundred households which are expected to be completed within 12 months.

Our tour to the site of the facilities to ascertain the progress of the ongoing work which is about 60 per cent completed is gradually progressing.

Speaking to Honourable Thomas Ewenan, the Assembly Member for Bepo Electoral Area together with other community members in the area thanked the government for the ongoing reconstruction projects for the people, and said the project when complete will ease pressure on the people in terms of accommodation situation facing the people. 

He noted that work is progressing steadily because there are six different contractors the government has engaged to ensure the completion of the project in the stipulated time.

Meanwhile to support the government's quest to rebuild the Appiaste community various stakeholders and the cooperate world have supported in diverse ways to see the project come to life. 

Tullow Ghana Limited the lead operator of the Jubilee and TEN fields has donated four thousand bags of cement to help fast-track the rebuilding of  Appaiste.

The Head of External Affairs of Tullow Ghana Limited, Nana Kobina Ewusie Prah speaking to the media explained the rationale for their gesture and said it is the duty of them as a company to make sure the assurance of the government to rebuild the town com into fruition to help secure a proper place of abode for the affected community.
