It has emerged that the removed Principal Stool Father of Dzekley Royal Paramount Stool of the Battor Traditional Area, Zikpuitor Korsi Hottor has bypassed the Paramount Chief of Battor, Togbega Patamia Dzekley VII and his kigsmen and wrote a letter to the Volta Regional Police Commander in Ho.
The two page letter which was intercepted by Soireenews.com was copied to the prominent security personnalities including the Volta Regional Minister, President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, Sogakope Divisional Commander of the Ghana Police Service, Aveyime Battor District Police Commander, North Tongu District Chief Executive and President of Battor Traditional Council.
The letter dated November 12, 2022 has requested the Volta Regional Police Commander to allow Zikpuitor Korsi Hottor and other traditional authorities in Battor to open the Dzekley Royal Paramount Stool Room to  perform the necessary rites and other customary rites to appease the stool.
The letter reads in part that: "On my own behalf and on behalf of the Kingmakers and owners of the Dzekley heavy heart to serve notice that we have decided to perform the above stated rites before the celebration of the 2022 Battor Hogbeza in accordance with our time-tested custom, traditional practice and usage.
It is regrettable to state that our Paramount Chief unilaterally decided to lock out our stool room thus making it impossible for us to perform these rites against all protestation for the past eight (8) years.
It will be recalled that in the year 2020, we petitioned the then Minister for Chieftaincy, Cultural and Religious Affairs, Honourable Kofi Dzamesi against some actions of our Paramount Chief which were in gross violation of our custom. Sadly, he treated our petition with contempt and got away with it.
This time round, were are not ready to compromise on the customary values that were bequeathed to us regarding the performance of Stool rites and other customary rites.
There is no gain stating the fatal harm these gross violations have caused members of the royal family in general and owners of the great Dzekley Stool in particular.
We are deeply worried about the scary revelations after we have consulted the oracles that, a number of persons from the family including the recent one, Togbe Akpasati Lotsu died because of the continuous refusal of our chief to open the stool room to us.
It is still being revealed that many more people may die if these gross violations continue. We are very certain about these time-tested values and cannot afford to lose any more souls due to these unacceptable developments.
Against this back drop we humbly serve notice to end this unacceptable abuse and disregard for our time- tested values, custom, traditional practice and usage before the 2022 Battor Hogbeza is celebrated.
As peace loving and law-abiding citizens, we have strenuously maintained our cool over the past eight (8) years against the persistent provocation and violation of our customs.
We would not want to be drawn in any action which will lead to the breach of the prevailing peace and therefore call on our Paramount Chief Togbega Patamia Dzekley VI! to as matter of urgency open the STOOL ROOM to enable us perform the Stool rites and other traditional rites per the dictates pf our
custom and tradition.
We wish to state clearly that we have nothing against our chief so we expect him to be part of these planned activities from Tuesday, 22 to Monday 28th November 2022 if he so wishes.
We highly anticipate favourable response from our Paramount Chief Togbega Patamia Dzekley Vll, as we humbly appeal to you most respectfully, to kindly intervene and contribute to restoring our heritage, custom, traditional practice and usage to maintain the prevailing peace in Battor.
We are undoubtedly counting on your usual cooperation and support
