The Central Regional House Of Chiefs President, Odeefour Amoakwa Boadu VIII, has banned the celebration of festivals in the region.

Delivering the speech by Odeefour at the Breman Traditional Council meeting at Breman Asikuma in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of Central Region, he told that the reason for the prohibition is as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Odeefour Amoakwa Boadu VIII told Soireenews that since the Coronavirus walked on the Ghanaian land, everything has totally changed especially with the economy regardless of the low fatality rate hence his counsel to chiefs on the need to halt the festival activities until the President gives the go-ahead.

He advised his residents to continue to protect themselves by wearing Nose masks, washing of hands regularly and social distancing.

He also encouraged them to partake in the vaccination exercise of the Johnson and Johnson jab whiles adhering to the various protocols.

Donations were made to Ghana Health Service in the district to support their services.
