Raab situation shows Sunak's weakness - Keir Starmer

Regarding Raab's claims that the investigation was defective, Starmer says he doesn't understand why the former deputy PM "thinks anybody wants to hear about his whining about having to resign".

Raab situation shows Sunak's weakness - Keir Starmer

In a statement in response to Dominic Raab's resignation, Labour leader Keir Starmer claimed Rishi Sunak's "continual weakness" was demonstrated.

He claims that Raab should not have been hired in the first place and that the prime minister should have fired him right away rather than allowing him to resign, as he was speaking to media at a hospital in North Yorkshire.

The upcoming generation of healthcare professionals, according to Starmer, want to discuss their futures, but "here we are talking about weakness at the top of the Tory party."

The Conservatives, he continues, are a party that "just can't deliver" or govern, "no matter how many times you change the person at the top."

He then shifts the focus of his criticism to the status of the nation, posing the question, "Why on earth isn't the government laser focused on the cost of living crisis and NHS?"

In response to Raab's resignation, Rishi Sunak has not yet issued a remark.
