Prince Charles to name gorillas in Rwanda event

At Rwanda's annual conservation festival, Kwita Izina, Prince Charles of Wales will name young gorillas on Friday.

An important annual event on Rwanda's tourism calendar, Kwita Izina was inspired by the custom of naming children in families.

Twenty well-known figures, including The Prince, will attend the event.

But he will take part virtually.

The Prince attended the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Rwanda in June (CHOGM).

He is well recognized to have a love for conservation.

The Kwita Izina conservation event is in its 18th year this year.

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, this is the first time the ceremony has been held in person since 2019.
