A Kenyan preacher has been accused of being responsible for the death of four individuals due to hunger.

The preacher was detained for the death of the four followers who decided to adhere to extreme religious doctrines. According to reports, Makenzie Nthenge who is the leader of a religious cult in the coastal Kilifi region compelled his followers to adhere to the doctrine. His followers are said to have been eager to fast till death because they believed it would speed up their meeting with Jesus Following their rescue from a countryside hideout, eleven members connected to the contentious Good International Church are now recovering in a hospital. Some others went up to 21 days without eating. Mr. Nthenge has claimed that he had shut down his church in 2019, but he also works as a televangelist and has a YouTube channel that appears to have drawn fans from hundreds of different countries. Mr. Nthenge was just recently prosecuted for the deaths of two children whose parents had joined the church and were allegedly followers of his teachings.
