Police sadly arrest NADMO Director General whiles on his way to rescue flood victims over traffic offense.

The Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) under the Airport Divisional Police Command have sadly arrested Nana Agyeman Prempeh, Director General of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for flouting road traffic regulations whilst on his way with the NADMO operational team to rescue flood victims and properties.

Mr. Agyeman Prempeh was arrested together with the NADMO rescue team on the Airport road when they were rushing to rescue flood victims during the heavy rains yesterday when parts of Accra were submerged.

It took the timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Army to step in and rescue some victims from various flooding areas when the police prevented NADMO from performing their lawful duties.

Some eyewitness and the NADMO rescue team were surprised by the action of the police to prevent the operational team from rescuing victims who were at the edge of losing their lives and properties.

The Ga East Municipal NADMO Boss, Mr. Seth Osei Kissi has been speaking to the media about the unfortunate incident.
