The Eastern Regional Police have started investigations into the drowning of two friends in Osubin waterfalls last week. The deceased have been identified as Kwaku Owusu, 26  and Kofi Kyei Mensah, 28.

A friend of the deceased persons Evans Hayford Narh, accounts that the two went swimming in the waterfalls on Friday, November 5, 2021, and never returned. Their clothes were later found at the site of the waterfalls.

A search as well as pouring of libation by a priest in the community proved futile.

The Police together with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) conveyed the bodies to the Begoro Government hospital morgue pending autopsy.

A statement from the police states that there have been a number of drowning incidents and this calls for an in depth investigations that will yield a solution to the menace.
