Over 30% of teachers are unqualified to teach in the classroom.

The Registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC), Dr. Christian Addai Poku, has stated that roughly 30% of instructors are unqualified to teach in the classroom.

Dr. Addai told the crowd at the introduction of the Ghana National Council of Private School Teachers' Continuous Professional Development (PST-CPD) that the NTC, GNACOPS, and the Ministry of Finance are working together to train 2,000 unqualified private school teachers.

According to him, the training will serve as the foundation for pilot training of inexperienced teachers to provide them with best practices.

This will aid these teachers in mastering the art of teaching reading and numeracy in depth.

The primary influence of education in society is the transmission of knowledge that will integrate individuals and enable them to become more relevant members of society capable of solving problems.

Qualified teachers have been identified as an effective tool for achieving effective teaching, according to research. It is important to note that ineffective and inadequate school teaching has continued to wreak havoc by destroying the hopes and aspirations of some children, particularly the ambitious.

Learners' low academic performance has been attributed to a lack of exposure to hands-on experiences, particularly in disciplines such as mathematics and English.

Executive Director of the Teaching Council added that Over 1,000 private school teachers will be taught how to effectively teach reading and numeracy to strengthen their in-depth understanding of the teaching profession.
