The Omanhene of Gomoa Akyeampim traditional Area Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II has supported the government's decision to demolition the 141-acre Buduburam Liberian refugee camp established on 16th November 1990.

According to the traditional ruler, the refugee camp has lost its usefulness since 2010 but now the place has suddenly turned into a no go area and moreover,  a hideout for notorious criminals who commit a crime in any part of the country.

The demolition of the Buduburam Liberian refugee camp in Gomoa East District of the Central region has become government plans in order to flash out hardened notorious criminals and also to redevelop the area.

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians, as well as Liberians who reside in the said area, have become recalcitrants demanding accommodation from the government before they evacuate.

Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II made this pronouncement to the Media during his 20th-anniversary celebration as Omanhene of Gomoa Akyeampim at  Gomoa Buduatta with the theme: "Peace and unity can promote the development."

Touching on chieftaincy Dispute, Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II noted that, chieftaincy litigations don't encourage government, investors or individuals to promote development in various societies.

He has confessed that Gomoa is far behind development due to the unending chieftaincy litigations.

He has, however, called for peace and unity amongst Chiefs in Gomoa and Ghana as a whole in order to promote massive development.
