Ghanaian actress Rosemond Brown well known as Akuapem Poloo has shared her sorrowful experience for the first time saying that she was served with unbalanced food during her two weeks imprisonment at Nsawam.
She made this revelation In an interview she had on Onua TV with Captain Smart.
According to her, she was served with banku with groundnut soup that contained no meat or fish and it was unhealthy to eat.
She claimed that she didn’t want to take the “trash food” but was forced by the prison officer to eat it since there is no other food available.
Akuapem Poloo shared the painful part of the story were she said she was asked to remove her cloths and knelt down in her nakedness and push her vagina muscles so that the officer on duty could have sex with her, she said she had no illegal substances or weapons on her the first day she entered the prison yard.
The mother of one suffered the grips of the law as she was sentenced to 90 days jail by Accra Circuit Court on April 16 after she was convicted on her own plea on charges of posting a nude picture of herself and her son on social media.
She filed an appeal seeking to overturn the ruling, but the application was not taking into consideration by the Accra High Court on December 1, 2021.
She additionally filed a fresh appeal on December 6, 2021, with the court of Appeal seeking a non-custodial sentence instead of a custodial sentence.
On 15 December, she was imposed with a fine of GHS12, 000 and her custodial sentence was set aside.
On Friday, December 17, 2021, Akuapem Poloo paid GH¢12,000 fine which was imposed on her by the Court of Appeal in Accra after overturning her custodial sentence.
