The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP) John Boadu has hinted that the party is poised to break the 8-year rule chain in the 2024 general elections.

According to him, the works Nana Addo's second term administration will embark on will make the party more attractive and this will entice electorates to vote for the party in 2024.

He said this at a press conference organized in Techiman after meeting executives of the party in the Bono East Region as part of their measure to ascertain the shortfalls which occurred during the 2020 general election and the way forward in dealing with issues that emerged before and the election.

Mr. Boadu added that the NPP doesn't want to be going forth and back which will create an avenue for other political parties to take over from them to create, loot, and share.

He emphasized that the slimmest parliamentarian gap between the NPP and the opposition NDC is not what the party anticipated therefore they will work to resolve misunderstandings that erupted in the past year to allow the NPP to have a comfortable majority in parliament in the coming election year.

Touching on who becomes the next flagbearer of the ruling NPP in 2024, the general secretary said, that is not the needed subject for now since the party has more years ahead before getting to the election of flagbearer position.

Mr. Boadu said technically not less than 11 months to the general election is where the NPP will elect the presidential candidate therefore no need for any struggle for now.
