NPP Expresses Regret For Alan Kyerematen To Withdraw From Its Fagbearership Race
THE LEADERSHIP of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed regret of the final decision taken by the former Minister of Trade and Industry to withdraw himself from the NPP flagbearership race scheduled to take off on November 4, 2023.

In a statement dated Wednesday September 6, 2023 from the National Secretary of the NPP, Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong and copied to Soireenews. com the party noted that the leadership of the NPP acknowledged the receipt of the letter dated on Tuesday September 5, 2023 and contents therein are dully noted.

The party stated that the both Electoral Commission and Disciplary Committee have initiated a comprehensive investigations into  the reported incidents of violation and infractions that are alleged to have occured in the voting centres during the super delegates which was held on Saturday August 26, 2023.

"We wish to assure all the stakesholders and the general public that the reports of the aforementioned committee would be made readily available and the persons who may be found culpable of any wrongdoing would be held accountable," the statement stressed.
It would be recalled that Mr Kyerematen has officially withdrawn from the race.
His decision comes just a day before the New Patriotic Party organises balloting for aspirants who will be contesting in the November Congress that is aimed at electing a successor for Nana Akufo Addo as flagbearer of the party.
Alan cites the intimidation of delegates in the recently held Super Delegates conference among others as some of the reasons that have informed his decision to drop out of the race.
The announcement confirms earlier reports that the former Trade Minister planned on stepping down when he scheduled a press conference this afternoon.
That press conference was later postponed until a press statement was released a few minutes ago to officially confirm the decision of Alan.
It is unclear what Alan will do in the near future. There are unconfirmed reports he could explore the possibility of running as an independent candidate ahead of the 2024 General Elections.
Alan came third in the Super Delegates Congress, behind Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong.
