No life lost in the collapsed of Word In Action Church building at Old Bortianor in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, according to the official of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO). 

"When the disaster occupied and we got to the scene, but the almighty God has helped that no life has lost. These are the the experts account after the assessment the situation, the Deputy Director of NADMO for Ga South, Mr Wonder Matthew has explained.
Speaking in an interview with Soireenews. com, Mr. Matthew noted that seven construction workers have sustained injuries after the church building before collapsed on them on Tuesday May 9, 2023.

He stated that entire three-storey auditorium of the Word In Action Church collapsed Tuesday morning while construction work was ongoing.
 
He indicated that it has brought its search for any possible trapped victims to an end, adding that NADMO is yet to determine the actual cause of the disaster.
Mr Wonder Matthew told the journalist that his outfit is yet to ascertain the cause of the collapse
“For now, we cannot do any assessment now. Engineers of the Ga South Municipal Assembly now trying to bring their assessment but what we know now is that seven persons have been injured and have been taken to the hospital for treatment”, he said.
He pointed out that those who sustained injuries would be attained and that since they had checked that no life was lost what was needed to be done is for the Ga South Municipal Assembly Building Engineers to bring their findings out to asctain what is the caused of the disaster.
He pointed out that the NADMO officials do not have mandate to come out publicly to inform the general public about the actual cause of the disaster saying that it is responsibility the engineers of the Assembly to do so.
According to him, they requested that the excavator should to clear the debris and that they got the specialists who went to the inside of the collapsed building to check everything and realized that nobody was trapped in the building.
He said seven victims who were injured have confirmed that they were there working before the collapsed of the building.
He said six of the victims were hospilised at the Bortinor Polyclinic, but remaining one who sustained severe injuries was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
According to him, his outfit has planned to visit the injuried persons at their hospitals to find out about their current conditions.
Speaking in an interview with an eye wineness, he noted that they were working around at ajasco junction at Old Bortianor around 9:00 am when they saw that some workers had entered into building of the Word In Action Church to work as usual.
According to him, it was around 10:00 am thereafter, when they spotted that those who were leading the workers came out to buy water and some other items and went back to enter into the church building.
The church building was fixed glasses and when they entered the building and we realized that outside glasses of the building have started breaking down.
The eyewitness noted that the situation has brought their focus to the building and what they saw in some few minutes was the noise of the collapsed of the building.
He added that when the building collapsed it has generated heavy dusts in the area, saying that the heavy dusty situation has prevented them not to enter into the building to rescue the people working at the time the collapsed of the building.
He said he tried to entered into the building but he couldn't, making him to starting shouting and called his friends to join him to enter into the building to rescue the workers trapped into the collapsed building.
"The three persons were not at the place where the building has collapsed but they saw that one was trapped in the building, and they saw part of his body outside whiles his legs were under the collapsed building.
"So we are shouting for the help of his life and due to quick intervention of some good samaritans they brought in some tools making them to able to rescue him from the building and we rushed him to Bortianor Polyclinic.

We saw five of them who we can testified that they came out from the building, but one of the victims has came out of the collapsed building before he collapsed on the ground and  and poured water on him and he couldn't talk and we put him into the taxi cab and rushed him to the Bortianor Polychinic. So three of them were strong before building coming out from the collapsed building," he accounted.
But two of the victims have sustained small wounds on their bodies. And one of them who was critically injured was later transferred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.he reaffirmed .
According to him, seven persons who were working on an extension project of the auditorium heard an unusual noise, but the building collapsed just when they attempted to escape.
“I can say that one of the injured persons is very hurt because the pillars really hit him hard. That is what I actually saw," he added.
