Credible information reaching Soireenews. com indicate that the youth of Manhean are furious at the Head Pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), Oechler Congregation, Manhean Sub-District.
The anger of the youth—many of who use motorbikes for commercial purposes (Okada operators)—stems from the reason that their motorbikes were seized from them by police officers from Anyaa District Police Command, who came to arrest three (3) senior members of the Oechler congregation.
This latest development is brewing tension in the Oechler congregation and the Manhean community as a whole.
The arrest of the 3 members, which happened a month-and-a-half ago, was sanctioned by the congregation’s session.
The Oechler congregation, which is located in the Ga West Municipal Assembly (GWMA), Greater Accra Region, made news recently, following the arrest of 3 of its members.
That, in addition with other worrying matters, caused the Ga West Presbytery to set up a five-member Committee of Enquiry, chaired by Rev Philip Nii Annan-Nai, to investigate the issues within a space of three weeks.  The committee brought its work to a closure on May 27, 2023.
The Soireenews.com also learnt that members of the Oechler congregation were unhappy at the decision of the committee to allow the Senior Pastor of the Church, Rev Amon Ashie, to remain in office while investigations were ongoing.
According to them, the committee should have asked Rev Amon Ashie to step aside during their investigations.
That for them would have prevented any move(s) by Rev Amon Ashie to influence their investigations.
“For some of us, it will not be a surprise if Rev Amon Ashie manages to influence the investigations,” an Oechler congregation member spoke to Soireenews.com on condition of anonymity.
Furthermore, Soireenews.com was reliably informed that nothing has so far changed at Oechler congregation, and not even in the wake of the investigations.
Some of the members told this online news portal that rather Rev Amon Ashie was trumpeting that one becomes popular if he/she receives media attention.

This news outlet also discovered that other Presby churches under the Manhean sub-district including the Resurrection Congregation, Afuaman are also facing similar problems under the leadership of Rev Amon Ashie, who is the Sub-District Reverend Minister.
For the Resurrection Congregation, Afuaman it was gathered that their election of session members has stalled, all because of certain entrenched positions by the sub-district Rev Minister.
“Also, our ongoing church building project has come to a standstill because our district Rev Minister wants the building to suit him, though the church has a building plan,” a deep throat source close to the Afuaman Session told Soireenews.com DAILY Analyst.

The Spireenews.com was also told that for two months now members of the Resurrection Congregation have not had communion.  And the reason is that Rev Amon Ashie has refused to offer the Afuaman Presby that service for reasons best known to him.
In addition, the Promise Land Congregation in Nsakina also in the GWMA is equally suffering the same fate!
Against this backdrop, many of the Presby members in the Manhean sub-district are calling on the PCG Moderator to immediately transfer Rev Amon Ashie to allow peace to reign in the district.
