Netizens Drag Afua Asantewaa: You Were Only Famous In Your Own House

Afua Asantewaa, the Guinness World Record sing-a-thon attemptee, said to someone who is lost that she was quite well-known prior to the start of the sing-a-thon.

Afua claimed that because she was a journalist for a well-known media outlet, she developed a relationship with the celebrities who came to support her; if it weren't for her, they wouldn't have gone.

She claims to have spoken with practically every public figure, performer, and artist in the nation.

“First of all, sina-a-thon was not for fame because I already had it. I meet celebrities all the time and all those who passed through the Akwaaba village during my singing marathon were people I encounter often,” she said.

“I am a journalist and I have interviewed almost all the actors, musicians and celebs who came to show me love at the Akwaaba Village, so it’s not like I was seeing them for the first time”, the internet sensation added.

Social media users have taken to attacking Afua Asantewaa because they did not find her remarks to be pleasant.

The online sensation has been branded as an ungrateful person by social media users for not attributing her success to her sing-a-thon attempt.

Many internet users claim that Afua Asantewaa's widely successful sing-a-thon attempt is how they first became acquainted with her.

People on the internet have stated that if the brand ambassador for the Ike City Hotel says she was well-known before trying to sing a song, then she was well-known in her hometown or in the community in which she lived.

“This lady is gradually becoming a nuisance! U people did not warn her about how Ghanaians can forget about her existence”, a netizen wrote 

Another Ghanian commented that “she is now talking too much Ghanaians will throw her out soon”.

“Maybe you were famous in your house”, another netizen said.
