Comedian says his announcement to retire was a prank to expose his enemies

It was earlier reported that Ghanaian comedian, DKB had announced that he would be retiring from comedy.

The comedian, who took to his Twitter page to write that he would no longer be entertaining Ghanaians through the art of comedy, has now stated that his announcement was a prank to "expose" his enemies. 

He initially revealed that he was giving up on the art because of the constant criticism he receives from Ghanaians. The most recent being the hate thrown his way after he openly chastised actress Efia Edo for her public display of indecency on Twitter.

"I'm RETIRING from comedy. I'm tired. Enough of negativity & disrespect, I didn't kill anyone, I just make people laugh, so why the insults in return? My mental health is important to me. So-called fans also don't show love publicly. I've lifted Ghana comedy, done my part," he wrote.

The "king of Ghanaian comedy" has now said that his statement was a joke to gain hype among the media outlets, that he would never consider leaving the art of making Ghanaians laugh no matter the hate thrown his way.

He explained that his words were a ruse to expose his enemies, especially bloggers who have been harbouring hate for him.

"Once in a while, you do a prank to expose your enemies. He really thought I was retiring, see the amount of hatred this blogger had harboured for me. May God give you the tactics to expose your enemies.”

"Shame on him and his entire website team of fools, kwasia ejimifu Congress!"

He then jokingly stated that as long as the "great DR UN" thinks of him as the King of Comedy, he is not going anywhere. Alluding to the United Nations awards scam that took place sometimes last month where an individual's who claimed to be a representative of the United Nations gave awards to Ghanaian celebrities.

"How do you expect me to retire from comedy when the ever amazing Dr U.N has named and awarded me the KING OF ENTERTAINMENT/COMEDY. Abeg suggest what I can drink with the golden flask"
