Musah Superior Throws Debate Challenge To General Secretary Hopefuls
A leading contestant for the General Secretary  (GS) position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Iddrisu Musah Superior, has challenged his fellow General Secretaryship aspirants to open up for a public debate on the issues of the party importance.

Consequently, he stressed the urgent need for the leadership of the NPP to organize in the first time the debate season amongst the contenders for the NPP General Secretary position for the party to know or see who can best articulate the party’s position on issues.

"I am calling on the party members to decide who among them has deeper knowledge and understanding of the party, and can best show the ability to speak fluently and coherently on various pressing issues, especially on their plans to retain the political power in the 2024 general elections and make the the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain in the opposition for long," Mr. Musah stressed
According to Mr. Musah who doubles as the current Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Forestry Commission, he has thrown the challenge severally but has received no response from the his opponents who are contesting the General Secretary position of the NPP.
He mentioned that looking at his vast political experience, he believes strongly that he is the only best contestant with the required qualities and requisite knowledge to face the NDC, because the incumbent General Secretary of the NPP who is seeking for re-election, Mr.John Boadu has poor track records.
Musah Superior who intends to move his campaign tour to Salaga South Constituency in the Northern Region today [Friday July 8, 2022] criticised the present management of the NPP for the apathy and depondency within the party and referred to the party delegates to July Congress to look at the plans and insurance policies of all of the aspirants and vote for the precise folks.

He stated if the party provides the mandate to incompetent folks, the party will endure and won’t be able to win the 2024 polls.

According to him, the current leadership of the governing NPP especially, its general secretary has mismanaged the party intricately.

The General Secretary hopeful noted that, the party has become so weak because of mismanagement by the incumbent General secretary, therefore making the NPP struggling.

According to him, the party's General secretary has made the deficiency of the party system very weak and argued that, the delegates should select him (Musah Superior) to poise a sufficient management to the agenda of the party to win the 2024 elections.

Mr. Musah Superior stressed that, through his term, he will address the key challenges in the current state of the party by empowering the party members, solving the apathy in the party and initiate strategic plans for members from bottom to the top in the party.

The General Secretary Hopeful believed to initiate a welfare plan and under his leadership will also initiate party office infrastructure plan in all the constituencies in the country, saying, the party has competent people but has people that can excel the pillars of the party.

He disclosed that, he will set up a scheme that will empower the 1st and 2nd vice chairmen of party at the Regions and constituency levels with other positions that will pool resources for the economic management of the party
Speaking in an interview with journalists, Mr Musah who doubles as the foundation member of the NPP stated even though there are records within the NPP  that his contenders have contributed to the development of party,  there are facts that his contributions are more than theirs which has made him to stall tall.
According to him, NPP national executives election is a keen competition and delegates of the party must choose a "doer" not "promisers" who never fulfill anything.
He holds a strong view that all his fellow General Secretaryship aspirants are promisers.
“So, the incumbent General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu is saying he just realised the grassroot members of the NPP need jobs so he is promising to create jobs if re-elected, and, I ask what he has been doing since his  assumption in office. My fellow General Secretary hopefuls know how to talk and talk.
"I, on the other hand, have continued to take care for the grassroot members of the party since l joined the NPP at the age 22 years , so the choice for you is a clear one,” he noted.
According to Mr Musah, his track record in both private and public life makes him stand out as the inevitable choice for General Secretary come 17 July, 2022.
He questioned why Mr Boadu had to wait till election time to realise that grassroot members of the NPP need jobs, describing that attitude as opportunistic and unfortunate.
Mr  Musah postulated that, if he’s voted for as the new General Secretary of the party ,he would give power back to the grassroots by making himself available at all times.
The former Mayor of Tamale indicated among other things that, he he had ten cardinal working principles he would roll out to maintain the party in power in 2024 . “Let me say , l have ten point workable solutions that none of my competitors has and since l announced them none of them had countered them and it shows how effective they are."

He continued that the grassroots have been left behind but to him they are the king makers and such people should be taken care of because without them the party can’t win power. ”
“The current executives are poles apart from the grassroots and see themselves as bighots and people can’t approach them to find solutions to their problems. None of them stays in the office so how can you attend to the difficulties of the party supporters ? They see themselves as another group of people in different class of their own leaving the grassroots to fence for themselves ; this is certainly wrong” he opined.

The former Tamale mayor contended that any officer who refuses to work from the party office has no business vying for the position he/she is contesting for.

Again he warned the party of the delusion of they just using the mantra ‘BREAKING THE EIGHT ‘ if serious approach is not adopted adding that victory in 2024 would not be won with a child’s tactics. “We can’t just win 2024 with a word of mouth ; we need to work extremely hard because our opponents would not be pushovers so we need to up our strategies else we will laugh at the wrong side of our mouth."
He disclosed that he is vying for the position in NPP to accelerate the fortunes in 2024 , because a big party like the NPP needs very strong, dedicated, focused, intelligent, articulate, eloquent, reliable, calculated and visionary General Secretary and he is prepared to offer that quality leadership for the part at all times.
Mr. Musah has told his contenders that the NPP is at the point of making history and it therefore needs a leader who is not only educated but submissive, transparent, visible, approachable, assertive and visionary to lead it into the 2024 general elections, “and I am the one who has all these credentials even my colleagues know these.”
