Bagbin Conferred with coveted Millennium Excellence Award for MP of the Decade
Speaker of Parliament, Right Honourable Alban Bagbin received "Outstanding” Member of Parliament of the decades in recognition of his contribution to the nation by Millennium Excellence Foundation.

The Speaker of Parliament, Right Honourable Alban Bagbin has assured parliament not to work to frustrate the business of the Executive.
Speaking at the conferment of a special award by Millennium Excellence Foundation as an “Outstanding” Member of Parliament of the decades in recognition of his contribution to the nation, he revealed that after his election as Speaker of Parliament, through the initiative of the President, he has built a healthy and fruitful working relationship with H. E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, the president of the Republic of Ghana.
“I have reached out to the chief of staff and I am happy with the harmonious working relations between the Legislature and the Judiciary” he expressed.
The award scheme, spearheaded by the Millennium Excellence Foundation seeks to recognize individuals who have contributed in diverse ways to the country’s development. Since its inception some 20 years ago, the scheme has awarded some distinguished personalities noted of whom include former President of blessed memory, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, Amoh others.
Some Board Members of the Millennium Excellence Awards expressed their overwhelming love towards the good works of the speaker of parliament.
The Chairperson of the board of the foundation, Grace Amey-Obeng read out the citation in recognition of the Speaker’s contribution to national development before the award was conferred on him.
Leadership from both sides contributed to the achievements of the Speaker.
Deputy Majority leader, Alexander Affenyo Markins commended the Speaker for the great works he has done for this country hence congratulated and thank the Millennium Excellence Awards for MPs.
