MMDCEs nomination: Tain youth calls for former MP, DCE to be disqualified  

The Concerned Youth of the NPP in the Tain District believes the former MP and DCE are the major problems the NPP has in the constituency led to their loss of the parliamentary seat in the 2020 election.

Concerned New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth in the Tain District of the Bono Region are calling for the disqualification of the former Member of Parliament for the area, Honourable Gabriel Osei and incumbent District Chief Executive, Honourable Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwomo in the Municipal and District Chief Executives race.

The two are among the 114 individuals who have so far submitted their application to be appointed to head the 12 MMDAs in the Bono region.

Tain District has the highest number of contestants with as many as 15 individuals followed by the Jaman South District where 14 persons were also vying for the position. Meanwhile, Jaman North have 12 aspirants, Dormaa West, seven, Dormaa Central, five, Dormaa East, four, Banda, 11, Sunyani Municipal, six, Sunyani West, seven, Berekum East 10, Berekum West, eight while Wenchi has five.

The youth of Tain argued that the two people aforementioned are the major problem the NPP has in the constituency which they believe led to their loss of the parliamentary seat in the 2020 election.

They accused the two top officials of division among party followers.

Speaking to Soiree News, leader of the youth Fred Gyan said the appointment of any of the two, the former MP Gabriel Osei and the incumbent DCE Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwomo will hinder the party’s chances of winning any election in the area.
