The mother of young Alhassan age 16, who is battling with a health condition call seizure in the Nyankpala Community of the Northern Region says her son's life has been cut short looking at his current disability condition.

According to her, the future of Alhassan would be doomed if the appropriate support is not given to him since the family is financially handicapped.

Narrating the son's ordeal to Soireenews, Mma Ayishatu said young Alhassan who is suffering from a seizure felled in a fire she had set to cook.

This according to her affected the son's hands, which resulted in the amputation of both hands at the Tamale Teaching hospital.

"The day his hands got burnt, I had given birth so I was with the children in the room, he said he was attending to natures call, he didn't come back to the room after the natures call, he went and sit by the fire I have set, he got a seizure and fell in the fire, before I came out his hands were burnt".

According to her, the young Alhassan was born just like any other normal child, but he was later diagnosed with seizure and epilepsy before the incident.

She bemoaned that the son has dropped out of school because of the situation. "He can't write nor do something fruitful for himself".

She, therefore, appealed to philanthropists and cooperating agencies to help the son get at least one artificial hand. "We don't have money to take care of the situation if he is left like that he will not be fit into the society shortly, but with the artificial hands he will be able to do something for himself".
