Minority Calls For Bi-partisan Enquiry To Probe Killing  Of Two Police Officers Who  Robbed Bullion Van

Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, Mr. James Agalga, has revealed that the minority has intended to file a private member motion seeking to have a  bi-partisan inquiry to probe the killing of two police officers who were allegedly connected to the bullion van attacks.

Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, Mr. James Agalga, has revealed that the minority has intended to file a private member motion seeking to have a  bi-partisan inquiry to probe the killing of two police officers who were allegedly connected to the bullion van attacks.
In the last quarter of 2021, the police recorded four bullion van attacks across the country.
In two of the incidents, the robbers bolted with cash onboard the vehicles.
In two of the cases, the police officers escorting the van lost their lives.
Two policemen suspected to be involved in bullion van robberies were according to The Director-General of the Police Public Affairs,  of Police (DCOP) Kwesi Ofori, gunned down during a crossfire with the police at Borteyman, in the Tema West Municipality of the Greater Accra has the two policemen shot. 
According to DCOP Kwesi Ofori, the two policemen named Constable Reindolph Gyimah Ansah and Lance Corporal Stephen Kwaku Nyame were pronounced dead on arrival at the Police Hospital.
Addressing the parliamentary press Corps  Mr. Agalga said the statement detailing the circumstances leading to the death is unclear hence their decision to call for an independent probe.
