Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Inaugurates Board of Directors of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority.

Speaking to the Board, he tasked them to provide the safety, security and safeguarding of nuclear materials and nuclear installations in ensuring that nuclear materials including radioactive waste, both from within and outside the country are properly controlled for the safety of Ghanaians.

Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, the Minister in charge of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) has inaugurated a seven 7 member Board of Directors of the Ghana Nuclear Regulatory Authority ti6 facilitate the affairs of the Authority.

Speaking to the Board, he tasked them to provide the safety, security, and safeguarding of nuclear materials and nuclear installations in ensuring that nuclear materials including radioactive waste, both from within and outside the country are properly controlled for the safety of Ghanaians. 

The Board Consist of seven (7) members which are chaired by Prof. Elizabeth Aba Bentil Andam.

The Environment Minister, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie charged the Board to work hard to promote the development of the Nuclear power program in the country.

However, Prof. Elizabeth Aba Bentil Andam, the Chairperson of the Board assures the President and the Minister of Environment of their readiness to work tirelessly to effectively deliver on its mandate for the nuclear power program.

She commended the government for its commitment to improving Nuclear power projects in the country.
