Wenchi MP organises special mock examination for BECE candidates

The Member of Parliament for Wenchi constituency, Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna  has organized a special mock examination for 2,159 candidates from 72 public and 17 private schools in the Constituency.

The candidates were 10,85 males and 10,74 females.

The second maiden edition of the MP's special mock examination see number of candidates sit in for the exams higher as compared to last year figure which was 20,58 candidates.

Public Relations Officer of the Wenchi Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service, Mr. David Baffoe lauded the MP for the initiative.

The mock exam organized by the MP aimed to shape the candidates in boldness and confident during the Basics Education Certificate Examination (BECE) slated for Monday 17th to Friday 21st October, 2022.

Speaking to soireenews.com  Nana Anfreh Damanata, he said prior to the MP's intervention BECE candidates performed abysmally but the results had improved since the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna started sponsoring mock examination for the candidates.

Mr Baffoe further explained that the office of the Wenchi Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service recorded 68% in the previous BECE results and improved in 2021 score to 78% .

He believe that this year will be better than 2021 and sends an encouraging message to the 2022  - year candidates to learn hard since the MP and the Directorate are doing their best to support them with all the needed teaching and learning materials.

The mock examination was funded by the MP's share of GETFUND he said.
