Some residents in the Dormaa Municipality of the Bono Region have kicked against the legalisation of marijuana in the country.

According to them, calls for the legalisation of marijuana are not justified and warned of a serious consequence should such proposal be accepted.

They were responding to the legalization of wee for medicinal purpose in the country.

They disagreed with their arguments, saying it is not convincing enough for the country to legalise the drug since the use of weed is prevalent among the youth today.

They said the impact of marijuana usage among the youth is a canker in the country.

They indicated that the addiction to weed has many consequences on individuals and the societies in which they live.

Explaining that some of these consequences include mental and physical illness as well as violent behaviour that facilitate crime and lack of productivity at work.

They, therefore, want the government to reconsider the legalization.
