The Upper West Regional Minister pledged to arrange a meeting with the  delegation and some government officials to resolve the concerns raised.

The Upper West Regional Minister Hon Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih has assured government's commitment to devote the necessary developments to the Sissala enclave as a fair share of the national cake.

He said this to the chiefs of the various areas when the chiefs paid a courtesy call on him at the offices of the Regional Coordinating Council on Friday, May 28, 2021.

According to Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, he had a successful discussions with the Chiefs pertaining the entire development of the region.

It will be recalled that four(4) districts that were excluded from the €35 million European Union (EU) feeder and farm access road projects in the region resulted in recent demonstration by the Sissala enclaves to register their displeasure.

On that backdrop necessitated the Chiefs delegation call on the Regional Minister to brief him on the widespread grievances of their people regarding such an exclusion from the EU projects.

Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih however reiterated the government's commitment in ensuring equitable distribution of national developments in every part of the country, just as Upper West region is not excluded.

The Minister therefore pledged to arrange a meeting with the  delegation and some government officials to resolve the concerns raised.

“I pledged to facilitate a meeting of a delegation from the Sissala area and some top government functionaries so as to resolve some pertinent issues.

"The Sissala zone is a significant component of our beloved region and indeed Ghana. Government shall therefore ensure that development gets to the people of the Sissala area” the Minister added.

The concerns raised by delegation is looking forward to a meeting for redress to calm down tensions in the Sissala enclaves.
