Messi could extend his stay at Barcelona for another two years, after a meeting with his father, Jorge Messi and Barcelona president, Joan Laporta.

TV3 reports that the two parties have met and discussed the player’s future and the two are positive an agreement could be reached at the end of the season.

Lionel Messi’s contract finishes in June and rumours linked the 32-year old’s to joining Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City at the end of the season following his misunderstanding before the start of the season with the former president, Josep Bartomeu.

The news outlet reported that Messi’s main concern is not financial, rather, the Argentine wants a winning project to be established to compete for honours across Europe rather than receiving bigger waged in the club.

He could sign a two-year contract extension in order to be on top form by 2022 to partake in the World Cup before moving to America to play with David Beckham’s Inter Miami in the MLS when his contract expires at Barcelona.
