Let’s Rise up Against “Media Tyranny” under the Akufo-Addo Gov’t – NDC

The Opposition National Democratic Congress, has urged Ghanaians to speak against what it describes as “dictatorship and Media Tyranny” under the Akufo-Addo government.

The NDC via its twitter handle said the attempt by government to illegally control the media landscape in Ghana has tainted the country’s democracy.

“When the freedom of the press it curtailed, democracy suffers. This is why we need a free press, as much as we need fresh air to breathe” the party’s flagbearer, John Mahama was captured saying in a video attachment.

The NDC bemoaned the closure of Radio Gold, Radio XYZ and Radio Tongu which it has alleged to be as a result of “political witch hunt”.
