Concerned Delegates of Juabeng Constituency have invoked curses on New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Executives following the dismissal of parliamentary candidate, Francis Owusu Achiaw from the impending parliamentary primaries.

In their protest on Friday at Nobewam within the Juaben Constituency, the almost 300 delegates accused the National Executives of the NPP for excepting parliamentary aspirants, Francis Owusu Akyaw and Alexander Opoku from the awaiting primaries and endorsing the Member of Parliament, Hon. Ama Pomaa Boateng to represent the constituency unopposed.

The party representatives in the early hours of Friday, June 5, 2020, clad in red and black attire, stormed one of the rivers in Nobewam, named Asuo Abena with a sheep and Schnapp to jinx leaders as a means of registering their disappointment.

According to them, a free and fair election must be held in Juabeng Constituency for delegates to make a choice on the people's favorite. They made known that the hint of aspirants' dismissal was provided by the National Vice Chairman, Mr. F. F. Anto.

“Our party believes in democracy and it is our belief hence the decision to elect a leader or the country every four years. If F.F Anto, the National Vice Chairman informs us of the decision taken by the party, there is absolute truth in his words.

"If their decision is not reversed, we will never revert our actions. This is a free and fair election and we believe very well in competitions. We do not understand why Ama Pomaa Boateng is going unopposed?

“If they think we are not needed in the party, they should write officially to us. Francis Owusu Akyaw and Alexander Opoku have been disqualified and we do not agree to that. We will only revoke the curse if they resolve their decisions,” a delegate said.

They uttered that the incumbent Member of Parliament has nothing to offer as far as the constituency is concerned hence their determination to remove her from office.

“She has nothing to boast off in this constituency for over eight years now. That is the reason why we believe in a free and fair election. Dictating for us means you support her course and we are not happy about that. This is unfair and goes against the constitution of the party,” Chairman for Bomfa M/A primary cautioned.

They hereby gave a strong warning to the Regional and National Executives to rescind their decision if they truly want to retain the NPP government in power in the upcoming National Elections.

During the cursing, they pointed hands-on Mr. F.F Anto, Mr. Peter Mac Manu, Asenso Boakye, and other instrumental Executives of the party as the brain behind the disqualification of their rightful candidate, Francis Owusu Achiaw.
